What is Discount HealthCare?
Discount HealthCare Benefits of America is a non-insurance voluntary benefits plan consisting of an innovative discount prescription card along with dental, vision, hearing, chiropractic, podiatry, home healthcare, medical equipment and a vitamin and supplement plan. DHC is available to everyone.
Who are the providers in my area?
There are more than 500,000 pharmaceutical, dental, vision, chiropractic, hearing, physician and hospital providers nationally. You can search for providers by your zip code and specialty in the Provider Search section of this website. When you receive your Discount HealthCare Card startup kit after you join, you will receive a partial list of some of the providers in your area. You can also call the customer service toll-free number on the back of your membership card at any time to find out about providers nationwide.
How many pharmacies accept my discount prescription card?
DHC has over 57,000 participating pharmacies, including Target, Walgreen’s, Safeway and thousands of independents. So virtually anywhere you go, you can just flash the card and save up to 30%
With my discount prescription card, can I order prescriptions by mail instead of going to a pharmacy?
Yes! And you can save even more doing it this way. Just follow the instructions that come with your card.
How does the Discount HealthCare program work?
Within 7-10 days of your payment, a membership packet will be sent to your home. The packet will contain a customer service number, your personalized Discount HealthCare savings card, a list of provider locations close to your residence, and a detailed description of each benefit.
How is it different from insurance?
Discount HealthCare is not underwritten by an Insurance company and there is no reimbursement plan. The savings are passed on at the time of payment. No exclusions, age restrictions, or paperwork.
Do I have to wait for my card to receive discounts?
YES. Your membership card will be mailed to you within 7-10 business days after receipt of payment. Once you receive the card, you will have access to discounts on healthcare.

Are there any restrictions on age or medical conditions?
No. Since Discount HealthCare is not an insurance program, there are no restrictions because of age, or medical conditions.
Can members of my immediate family use my ID card?
Yes, as long as you are a “Family” cardholder, immediate family members residing in your household can use your Discount HealthCare card.
If I get married will my spouse be covered?
Yes.
Will Discount HealthCare keep my medical information private?
Discount HealthCare has no access to private medical information. Only the providers have that information.
Do I have to pay at time of service?
You must present your card up front and pay the provider once you’ve recieved service. Participating providers have an agreement that they will not bill the member for the difference between their usual fee and the reduced fee.
How is pricing for prescription drugs determined?
The Discount HealthCare prescription drug program provides savings on both generic and name brand prescriptions. It allows for unlimited use by the member and his/her family. Prescription drug costs vary by provider due to differences in both retail and wholesale prices for products. When the pharmacy’s usual charge (retail price) is lower than the Discount HealthCare discounted price, members will pay the lowest price.
What if my provider is not a listed participant in the program?
With your membership packet, you will receive a list of network-affiliated providers in your area. To receive discounts, you must use a provider in the network. When you sign up with Discount HealthCare , you can access all member benefits and discounts. Just present your Membership Card to the provider when you arrive for your eligible service or product. He or she will look up the savings using your identification number. You must pay the reduced fee before services are rendered. Participating physicians have an agreement that they will not bill the member for the difference between their usual fee and the reduced fee.
Members can send their preferred doctor’s info to Discount HealthCare Benefits. We will contact the doctor, tell them about the program and ask them if they’d like to sign up. If the doctor does, they will be added in 6 weeks.
